NEW ROCHELLE, NY, February 16 — In a unanimous vote, Councilmember Yadira Ramos-Herbert (District 3) has earned the endorsement of the New Rochelle Democratic Committee to succeed Noam Bramson as Mayor.
“Yadira is the most qualified candidate to become our next Mayor,” said Jonathan Nwaru, who seconded her nomination. “With her track record of collaborative leadership, I am proud of our organization for choosing to support her as our next Mayor.”
Council member Marta López added, “This is a historic day for New Rochelle. For the first time in our city’s history, the Democrats have united behind a woman. This is a proud day for us as Democrats and residents of the city we love so dearly.”
In accepting her endorsement, Ramos-Herbert said, “I am grateful to the New Rochelle Democratic Committee and humbled by their support. New Rochelle is strongest when we are united together, and the results of tonight’s vote show that New Rochelle is strong. We have a long road ahead of us to the Mayorship, but I will put in the work to ensure every corner of this city understands the importance of the moment.”
